Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
Set oven temperature to 250F 120C
Using your favorite popping technique, pop the popcorn kernels and reserve in a big mixing bowl
Melt the butter in a saucepan over a medium heat
Melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar, bourbon, corn syrup, and salt
Until the mixture is smooth and starts to bubble, stir continuously
Simmer the mixture, uncovered, for four to five minutes
Take the saucepan off of the burner and whisk in the baking soda right away
Watch out because the mixture will start to bubble
After you've popped the popcorn, drizzle the caramel sauce over it and toss gently to coat every piece of popcorn
Arrange the coated popcorn onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet
Bake for 45 minutes in a preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes to make sure everything is evenly coated and not burned
When finished, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool fully before dividing into clusters
Present and savor!
