Ingredients:

  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

Before you start cooking, heat the oven to 375F 190C

To make lattice strips or any other shape you want, unroll the pie crusts and cut them out with a sharp knife or cookie cutters

To make an egg wash, beat the egg and add water to a small bowl

Place half of the pie crust shapes that you cut out on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper

Use an egg wash to cover the shapes on the baking sheet

Mix the cinnamon powder and granulated sugar together, then sprinkle this mixture over the egg-washed shapes

You can make lattice patterns or just add more shapes on top of the base shapes

To join the lattice or top shapes to the base shapes, press the edges of those shapes together

Add more egg wash to the tops of the lattice pieces

Place the lattice pie crust cookie toppers in an oven that has already been heated

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp

Remove them from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before putting them on your pies or desserts

For a pretty and tasty touch on pies, tarts, and other desserts, these lattice pie crust cookie toppers can be used
